Exercise 12 Managing |Tone

This is an exercise in post-production. I found a photo with a blue tinge to it. I’d taken it last week using a Lee No. 6 filter along with a polarizer. The result was a bit bluer than I wanted. So I opened the photo, checked the exposure to be certain black was black and white was white the adjusted the shadows since there were clipping warnings. Following that I opened the photo and went to the enhance option where  very slight adjustments in the tone curve. I took a good look, but still wasn’t happy so I went back and adjusted the saturation to warm the piece up a bit.

These are things I’ve been doing for awhile but it is good to take a methodical look at them. And I made a better photo in the process.

About idaswears

I left the U.S. for Cornwall 4 years ago. Since then I have spent my time writing, walking and studying the English. It's not always easy being a Yank in Cornwall, but it's always fun and rewarding.
